Hollywood's Greatest Love Stories

Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward
Paul and wife Joanne met on the set of The Long, Hot Summer in 1953 and married five years later. On his fidelity to his wife, Paul said: "Why go out for a hamburger when you have steak at home?" The two stayed wedded until his death in 2008.

Beyonce and Jay-Z
The couple who will always be "Crazy in Love." Bey and Jay met in 2002 for a collaboration on one of his songs. They married in 2008 and have been dominating Forbes' Power Couples list ever since. And now they're parents to Blue Ivy Carter, too.

Tim McGraw and Faith HIll

Tim and Faith met on the Spontaneous Combustion tour in 1996. Only problem: She was engaged and he was just out of a relationship. But they began seeing each other, and Hill became pregnant with their first child. The gorgeous stars married that year and have been dueting about their love ever since. And we adore this virtual country Ken and Barbie, so pretty, so cute, so lasting!

Clark Gable and Carole Lombard

Clark and Carole married in 1939—his third wife—and settled down on a ranch in California. Despite their extremely opposing political views (they were true opposites who absolutely adored each other), they made it work. But their romance was robbed: Carole died in a plane crash in Las Vegas in 1942. Gable received a personal condolence letter from President Roosevelt.

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson

Tom and Rita met on the set of the TV show Bosom Buddies and later—while working together again on the film Volunteers—realized they were meant to be far more than just buddies. They married in 1988 (Rita was Tom's second wife) and many consider it one of H'woods most successful unions. They sure have the track record to back that opinion up!

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi

Ellen and Portia met in 2004—while both women had other girls—but quickly began dating, and eventually marrying, in California in 2008 (when the ban on same-sex marriage was temporarily lifted). Portia even legally changed her last name to DeGeneres. They love buying and selling houses, doing shows, writing books and making millions of dollars, what couple doesn't?
